High quality Artist's materials.
Paints and Mediums.
I mostly use Golden and Schminke artists colours. These have higher pigment content and levels of lightfastness than studio colours often used.
Since much of my work is textural and may involve scraping back to reveal lower layers of paint, I use wood surfaces - usually birch or basswood multi-layered plywood and cradled for maximum stability.
Prior to painting, the surfaces are sealed with either gesso or a gloss varnish barrier to prevent discolouration from the wood.
Frames are of highly quality and hand-made on site.
Our contemporary frames are constructed of hardwoods such as ash or beech and are usually hand-finished with beeswax to give a gentle sheen and to complement the painting.
Frames can be custom finished to suit your personal taste and home decor.
